We deliberately chose one of the most challenging train lines in Europe for Wi-Fi connectivity. The Isle of Wight Island line has a mix of urban areas and countryside, and includes a pier, a tunnel and numerous bends. Very soon you’ll also be able to experience it in action on South Western Rail too. Watch this space.

As the train travels through a variety of different types of terrain, you’ll be able to watch connectivity soar from slower speeds on mobile 4G (5-25Mbps) up to 1Gbps on rail-5G – and where caps are not in place this can increase to nearly 2Gb. Load balancing and signal strength are demonstrated across a 15-minute train journey.
